Jumpstart Your Research

We recommend you start your research with these popular, multi-subject databases.  You will find scholarly articles, books, documents, and images in subjects from the sciences, the humanities and the arts.

Why Use Library Databases?

1. They are academic databases that take you to scholarly and/or educational material.

2. Many contain articles, images and other resources that are not freely available on the web.

What's in a Word?

Abstract - summary of an article

Citation - bibliographic information; source of article

Database - an organized electronic filing of data into fields for searching

Index - a list (usually alphabetical) of data such as title, author, subject

Peer-reviewed - examined or reviewed by an expert in the field

Source - a book, journal, etc. from which a chapter or article has been obtained
