Summer 2020

Library Updates!

Happy Summer!  We have a few things to share with you.

  • Library Hours - The physical library is closed for the summer (except to faculty and staff - see below).  We are available online via chat and email (library@coa.edu).  Library staff will be in the library at least part of each day (Mon-Fri).
  • Faculty & Staff - The library is available to faculty and staff by appointment.  Please contact us at library@coa.edu or 801-5665.
  • Chat - We now have "chat" on our library web page.  It will be available intermittently throughout the summer.  If you need to reach us and chat is not "on", you can always email library@coa.edu.
  • Books - Need some of our Thorndike library books, whether you are near or far? Contact us at library@coa.edu, and we will try to get you what you need.
  • Off-campus Access - You will need this to access the databases on our A-Z Databases list. (Also available from library homepage -> click the ARTICLES/DATABASES link ).  Access is only available to current students, faculty and staff.  Click off-campus access to learn how.
  • Printing and Copying - These services are on an emergency basis for students.  Faculty should contact library@coa.edu.  Please Note:  First Express (in  Bar Harbor) is open and can provide printing services.
  • Scanning - If you need items scanned, please contact library@coa.edu
  • Interlibrary Loan - We will try our best to get articles for you wherever you are.  If you are local, we can request books via ILL.  If you are far away, we will be happy to try to help you find the book(s) you need in the area close to you.
  • Audio-visual Equipment. - Please direct all questions to Zach Soares at zsoares@coa.edu
  • Laptops for Loan - Please contact Computer Services at helpdesk@coa.edu
